3. Why Isn't My Sugar Wax Working?

In most cases, it's not the product - it's the technique. Correct preparation, consistency and strip removal all make a big difference.

If your sugar wax isn't performing as expected, check these common areas:

• Prepare your skin properly: Make sure your skin is completely clean. Oils, moisturisers and residue prevent the sugar wax from gripping the hair effectively.
  
  
• Don't skip the talc: A light dusting of talc absorbs moisture and helps lift the hairs away from the skin. Try Sugar Coated talc here
  
  

• Warm the product correctly: Sugar wax should have the consistency of honey. Too cold and it won't spread easily. Too warm and it becomes too thin to grip the hairs properly.

• Check your hair length: Hair should ideally be around 5–10 mm long (approximately the size of a grain of rice).

• Remove the strip correctly: Always pull the strip back swiftly and parallel to the skin, never upwards. This removes the hair cleanly from the root while helping minimise discomfort.

• Consider the weather: Warm weather and humidity can create moisture on the skin. If this happens, simply apply a light dusting of talc before each application to absorb excess moisture and improve grip.
